Filipino Americans in the Military

“The Defenders: Bataan and Beyond” by Reuben Domingo

This is a documentary and oral statement of the Filipino World War II veterans who fought in the defense of the Philippines against the Japanese Imperial forces during the colonial American rule.  The documentary was produced in 1986 at the time when the Filipinos ousted a dictator through a People’s Power Revolution that captured the world’s attention.  This oral history was produced by the Filipino veterans’ organization during the waning years of their lives to make sure that their voices are not silenced because they are often not included in the history books.
